“Queen of the Week”

Welcome! Let me pour you a cup of tea and we’ll get started. Please help yourself to a deviled ham sandwich. We have carrot spice cake for dessert today.

Where do you live? Tell us a little bit about yourself.   My name is Sherry Foley and I live in Kansas City, Missouri.  I’m the author of the newly released book SWITCHED IN DEATH.

Are you a traditionally published or Indie author? Indie and it’s been a terrific experience.

What are your hobbies? I’m reading when I’m not writing. Love to garden and be outdoors. Travel.

Tell us about your current book. What was your inspiration? Switched in Death is about a serial killer who was brutally made fun of as a child. Bullied.   Now grown,  the scars are still there. They retaliate in a unique way.  The mind after all can convince anyone they are justified in their actions.

How did you become a writer? When did you start?  I didn’t have a good childhood and reading was my escape.  I won a writing contest in 8th grade and suddenly felt validated.  I mattered. I craved that feeling again and I loved writing.  I went on to win other awards and grow as a writer.  I married my 7th grade sweetheart after college and we got busy having a family.  I wore all the sports hats, ballet mom t-shirts, and passed myself on the road driving to practices many times.  Eight years ago on my birthday I sat down and decided to pursue my dream to become an author.  Eight years later, ironically on my birthday, Switched in Death released.

How long did it take you to finish your first book? A Captive Heart, which releases in November, took 9 months.  Switched in Death is my 7th manuscript.

Where do you like to write? Well, now that I have a writing app on my iphone, EVERYWHERE!  I prefer my chair in my living room though.

Favorite author(s)? Shannon K. Butcher who is my mentor, Linda Howard, Tami Haog, Carla Neggers, Allison Brennan…the list is endless.

How many books have you written, so far? Do you plan to write more? Seven.  Definitely. I have a detective series in the works currently.

Would you like to share a link where we can purchase your books?

What about a link to your website?  and I can also be found on Twitter @Sherry_Foley Facebook: Sherry Foley Author

It was a pleasure to have you over today, Sherry. I wish you great success in all your writing endeavors!
